Woven Copper Egg
Woven Copper Egg Sculpture

Because I couldn't NOT make this....I went to sleep last night thinking about my woven ball pendant, I woke up wanting to try a woven egg! I love eggs, their shape, their feel....I've been keeping this egg somewhere near me all day just to look at it!

Entirely hand woven, from different lengths and gauges of copper wire...starting with 12 gauge and finishing with 24 gauge. I would say it's relatively solid, as much as woven can be.....you're definitely not going to get anything all the way through it, and while I wouldn't recommending stomping on it, my egg's not going to easily crush if dropped.

The real egg in the photos is a Grade A Jumbo, and my egg sculpture's measurements are about half that size. About 1 3/4 inches (4.5 cm) tall, and about 1 1/4 inches (3mm) at it's widest....and it weighs 2.6 ounces!

Both stands that the egg is shown on are pretty simple ones....I'm not quite sure which I like better, so both will come to you with your egg and you can decide.

A unique addition to your egg collection....or the perfect piece to begin one!
